> Environmental responsibility
Environmental sustainability is a priority to our business and a commitment to the communities where we live and work. Projecta pursued and attained ISO 14001 certification to ensure that sustainability is a continuous part of the company’s future.
ISO 14001 is the international specification for an environmental conscious management system. This norm by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), helps to identify, prioritize and manage environmental risk on a daily and continuous basis.
ISO 14001 is a management tool enabling Projecta to:
- identify and control the environmental impact of its activities, products or services
- improve its environmental performance continually
- implement a systematic approach to setting environmental objectives and targets, to achieving these and to demonstrating that they have been achieved.
The ISO 14001 certification is also a tool that can be used to provide assurance to our customers we are in control of the processes and activities that have an impact on the environment and to assure employees that they work for an environmentally responsible company.

Practically all front and rear projection surfaces used in projection screens produced by Projecta comply to the standards of the GREENGUARD® Environmental Institute. GREENGUARD® has issued this certification under their certification number 90068. In addition to the GREENGUARD® Indoor Air Quality Certification, the Institute has also certified these projection surfaces for their GREENGUARD® Children and Schools program under certification numbers 90068-01 through 90068-26. The GREENGUARD® Certification Program uses performance based, field validated standards to define products and materials with low chemical and particle emissions for use indoors. GREENGUARD® requires products to be tested on an annual basis for over 2,000 individual volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute aims to protect human health and improve quality of life by enhancing indoor air quality and reducing people’s exposure to chemicals and other pollutants. As an ISO-IEC Guide 65:1996 accredited, third-party organization, the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute certifies products and materials for low chemical emissions and provides a resource for choosing healthier products and materials for indoor environments. All certified products must meet stringent chemical emissions standards based on established criteria from key public health agencies. GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized and accepted by sustainable building programs and building codes worldwide.
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances
All Projecta products are REACH compliant. The goal of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. At the same time, REACH aims to enhance innovation and competitiveness of the European Union chemicals industry. The benefits of the REACH system will come gradually, as more and more substances are phased into REACH.
Restriction of Hazardous Substances
We strive to always be RoHS compliant. RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. For the current list of all restricted materials mandated under RoHS visit the appendix under the directive.
Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment Regulations
Projecta is a WEEE compliant manufacturer.
The WEEE Directive is one of a small number of European Directives that implement the principle of “extended producer responsibility.” Under this principle, producers are required to take financial re-sponsibility for the environmental impact of the products that they place on the market, specifically when those products become waste. It seeks to reduce the amount of such waste going to landfill by encouraging separate collection and subsequent treatment, re-use, recovery, recycling and environ-mentally sound disposal.
